Using Spaces
B1.29 - Openminds zaal
An in-depth look at the Spaces module, and some of it's companions (the most commonly used companion is the PURL module).
Spaces is a powerful API module that allows you to provide context to parts of your site effectively allowing you to load different configuration. You can do any of the following, while using a single Drupal install:
- Create site sections
- Set up multiple sites with or without shared content
- Create private groups
- Give editor rights to certain user on certain parts of the site
- Enable different features base on the active space
- ...
Spaces comes with several prebuilt space types. The famous would be the Organic Groups integration as used by Open Atrium.
Note: There will be some more advanced talk near the end, as well as (talk of) code.
