Mobile first and Drupal. The future is already here

Doing Drupal front-end without going mad is hard. Let's be honest, Drupal is back-end oriented. The community is a features - i'm not talking about the module - oriented world, but nowadays we should be competing on user experience instead.

Front-end is evolving at extreme high speed with the responsive mobile first progressive buzzword bingo. Lots of cool shit that we can use to make great experiences for the end users. But working in the Drupal front-end means lots of hacks, frustration and serious wtf moments.

Implementing Mobile First in a responsive webdesign context in your complete workflow is one of these things. We can look at the future for what's happening for drupal 8, but we should look at what we can use now. I think the mobile first initiative came at a good time for Drupal, since the theming layer was in need of a big cleanup anyway.

Since it's evolving so quickly it's important to constantly evaluate and improve your workflow.
